Background
Karl is from Radcliffe, Manchester, UK. He started playing pool in a public house at the age of 14
(his friends dad owned the pub). His talents were
spotted by the pool team captain Graham Heywood and soon he was winning all of the
local honours. At the age of 18 Karl held 5 seperate league individual titles all at the
same time and didn't lose a frame in 18 months. A feat that will almost certainly
never be beaten.
Karl joined the UK pro tour at 18. With very little sponsorship funds and a shoestring
budget he set about learning his craft with the best in the UK. He won many tour
events and capped it off with the World Cup singles championship in 2004.
In 2005 Karl heard about the International Pool Tour and immediately set his sights
on becoming part of it. He has had to learn a completely different game, different
tables, different size and weight of ball and different technique, but he has already
made a huge, huge impact. The big money events start mid-2006 so watch this space.
